East Anglia, Thames & Chilterns
From the varied flat lands in the East to the gentle
beech-clad Chiltern Hills to the West, this is an area of two distinct
parts.
The long lovely beaches of Suffolk lead us to Norwich, the city of medieval
churches and cathedrals, and onto the Norfolk Broads. These tranquil wetlands
offer relaxing canal boating holidays on its 300 km of navigable waterways and
30 lakes. Turning south we travel through the Cambridgeshire fenlands and pass
by Ely, dominated by its famous cathedral for over 1,300 years, to the great
university town of Cambridge.
To the far west, perfect villages and market towns of wheaten coloured stone
lie in the rolling Cotswold Hills. The beauty and history of the region is
complemented by the wonderfully varied places to visit, from the city of
spires, Oxford, and its ancient university, to great amusement parks and
holiday resorts on the East Coast.
