An Edwardian family home on Exmoor beside the beautiful East Lyn river. We offer superior B&B accommodation, all rooms enjoying glorious Exmoor views. Complimentary tea/coffee and homemade cake on arrival.
Meadpool House is situated on the edge of Brendon village, a well known centre for walking, cycling and horse riding. It is also popular with artists, photographers and bird watchers. The Doone Valley is just along the lane and the picturesque towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, connected by an historic water-powered cliff railway, are just a few miles away. The famous Valley of the Rocks, with spectacular views of the rugged North Devon coast, is just a short distance from Lynton. The recently extended Coleridge Way connects Brendon and Lynmouth via a beautiful riverside path, which passes the lovely National Trust tea garden at Watersmeet.
The pretty gardens at Meadpool House border the East Lyn river and it may be possible to catch a glimpse of a kingfisher, heron or dipper while relaxing on the sunny terrace. On the moor nearby there are wild Exmoor ponies, red deer and buzzards circling high above.
There are excellent pubs within easy walking or driving distance for evening meals and light lunches, all serving a wide selection of local ales.
