Experience a luxury new build cottage with modern kitchen or a charming dog friendly cottage in the three acre ornamental grounds of a 17th century B listed thatched cottage. Enjoy outstanding views south over Loch Earn to Edinample castle, Glenample, Ben Our and Stuch A Chroin.
Each of the detached stone cottages has two bedrooms sleeping up to 4; an ideal choice for couples, friends and families. Briar Steading is a luxury new build cottage with 2 bedrooms, 2 en suite bathrooms, a spacious open plan lounge with a wood burning stove and a fitted kitchen with modern integrated appliances. Full length glass windows and doors overlook Loch Earn from the lounge and both bedrooms. The cottage has books and games, a DVD Sky television and Sky Sports, an Ipod docking station and WiFi.
Little Briar Cottage is a charming dog friendly cottage, with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a lounge with a compact kitchen/dining area. 2 couples can bring one dog and 1 couple are welcome to bring 2 dogs at £20 per pet. Pets love the grassy sloping paddock around Little Briar and they are welcome to swim in the loch from the garden and slipway if you let them.
Guests can enjoy the picnic table by the stream at the top of the garden where the last of the sun can be seen on a summers day or the picnic table in the loch garden by the summer house. Don't forget your camera as there are so many vantage points to take pretty pictures all year round. Owners Fraser and Kim live in a b listed thatched cottage that was once a crofters house lived in by local clans from McGregor and McLaren families. See inside the old cottage to view the original cruck framed timber ceiling; once the byre where a family would have slept above the cow.
Lochearnhead is very central within Scotland making it a great place to base yourself if you want to tour other towns and villages in any direction. There are 2 hotels within a 200 metre stroll plus a water sports centre and cafe open from April to October. The local store sells essential items and newpapers, logs, fishing bait and more. Asda and Sainsbury's will deliver shopping to the cottages if you book on-line with Briar Cottages postcode FK19 8PU. Wildlife is a regular feature in the area due to the perfect habitat. Guests have spotted the ospreys that fish Loch Earn all summer, plus deer and stags in the garden as well as sea eagles, a golden eagle, Kites, Canadian geese, mallards and their chicks, oyster catchers, otters at the jetty, red squirrel and more. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the local golf clubs, St Fillans GC and Killin GC where visitors are welcome to play 9 or 18 holes and will be made most welcome. There are Munro's nearby like Ben Vorlich and Stuc A Chroin, forest walks like The Queen Elizabeth 11 park, national cycle route 7 on the disbanded railway walkway, a water sports centre, fishing for trout free from Briar Cottages garden or with a permit if you hire a boat locally.
