With its magnificent location, Moorlands has always been attractive to walkers, outdoor enthusiasts, and those who enjoy peace and tranquillity. The Country House has welcomed guests for just over 100 years; indeed our most famous visitor, Agatha Christie, wrote her first book, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, here in 1916.
The high moors of the Dartmoor National Park are some of England's most unspoilt upland terrain.
Famed for its beautiful rolling moorland, and gnarled granite tors, it is also an area rich with wildlife and pre-historic remains.
Moorlands is situated high on Dartmoor below Haytor Rocks, one of area's best-known landmarks, with excellent walks right from the doorstep.
