Heart of England and Middle England

Chatsworth House Anne Hathaways Cottage

Stretching from the Wye Valley and the Cotswold Hills in the South West, to the Marshes and Wolds of Lincolnshire in the North East; from the borders of Wales to Rutland's rolling hills and great lake, you will see a wonderful country side of great variety.

The Cotswold Hills with pale weathered limestone walls and tranquil pastures lead up to the famous Hereford Beacon, site of a famous pre-Christian fortified settlement. Lovely Shropshire in the North West is bordered by Staffordshire, famous for its potteries.

History and battles abound, with Shakespeare's birthplace and the world renowned Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon; Sherwood Forest, between Lincoln and Nottingham, the haunt of Robin Hood; the Lincoln Wolds and Tennyson Country near historic Lincoln with its magnificent hilltop castle and cathedral.
