South of England

Brighton Cricketers at Little Chart White Cliffs

As a visitor to Great Britain, you will most likely arrive at a ferry port on the South Coast. Your first glimpse may even be the famous white cliffs of Dover or the Isle of Wight, a popular island with numerous attractions for the holidaying family.

Meander through the orchards of Kent the "Garden of England", down leafy lanes past vineyards and hop fields. Taking the smaller roads enjoy the old thatched cottages in the quaint villages of Hampshire and Dorset. Visit famous castles and grand houses, walk in the splendour of the ancient New Forest, or perhaps marvel at the great wooden ships of the past in Portsmouth.

The popular seaside resorts of Hastings, Eastbourne, Brighton, Bognor Regis, Little- hampton and Worthing, offer excellent fishing, sailing and swimming, and have the traditional summer "playground" atmosphere popularised in Victorian times.
